In court summons seen by the Herald newspaper, Mutambara has allegedly failed to pay for furniture acquired on credit in 2012.
The retailer’s lawyers, Mtetwa and Nyambirai, issued the summons arguing Mutambara had refused or failed to pay for the furniture.
The company wants the former deputy premier to settle the debt in full with interest calculated from the date of issuance of summons.
According to papers before the High Court, Mutambara entered into purchase agreements with TN Harlequin on different occasions in 2012.
He is said to have ordered furniture that was delivered to House Number 21 Steppes Road, Ballantyne Park, Borrowdale in the capital.
The retailer claims that, in all instances, the furniture was delivered at the request the former deputy premier.
The former student leader was deputy premier in the coalition government which came into office in 2009 and ended with last year’s general elections which were won by President Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF party.
