ZIMBABWE – A Chitungwiza man is accused of conning his employer who had assigned him to acquire stock.
Isaac Kaseke appeared at Chitungwiza magistrates’ court over allegations of using US$1,854 which was company’s money for his own use.
Chitungwiza magistrate Tafadzwa Miti deferred the matter to November 19.
It is the State’s case that on November 4 at around 7am, Isaac Kaseke was given cash amounting to US$7,680 by his employer Patrick Phiri to pay for 32 tonnes of maize in Dotito.
The court heard that Isaac went to Dotito and bought only 22.9 tonnes of maize instead of the 32 tonnes.
From the tonnes he acquired Isaac used US$5,826 and failed to account for the US$1,854 which he converted for his own use without the consent of Patrick.
November 10, Patrick inquired from Isaac how he had used the US$1,854 and he failed to account what he had used the money for.
