Coach David slapped with US $100 fine for negligent driving

ZIMBABWE – Former Dynamos Coach David “Yogi” Mandigora was yesterday slapped with a US$100 fine for negligent driving.

Mandigora of Number 9 Goshark Avenue Vainona pleaded guilty to the charge of negligent driving.

Harare magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti ruled that Mandigora pays the fine before November 30 this month or he risk spending 60 days in prison.

Circumstances leading to his arrest are that on September 25 at around 2am, Mandigora was driving a Toyota Platz along Samora Machel Road going the east direction.

At the same time Hillary Chifunda was driving along the same road moving in the west direction.

The court heard that, on approaching the T-junction with Bodle Road Mandigora turned right, and in that process he turned across the path of Chifunda who was going straight and the vehicles collided.

Chifunda sustained some injuries from the accident and was admitted at the hospital for some days.

A complaint was lodged with the police leading to the arrest of Mandigora following his appearance in court.
