ZIMBABWE – Talented rising gospel artiste and pastor Charles Charamba’s music protégé has launched a six track digital-versatile-disc as a 2015 parting shot with his fans.
Mr. Favour, whose real name is Anywhere Mukani, said the DVD accompanying his debut album Nenyasha Tinosvika is an offering that seeks to give Zimbabwean’s hope amid the turbulent times.
Though the 25-year-old artiste has penetrated the market because of his voice that takes cue from pastor Charamba, the DVD album that carries tracks such as Zodzo, Herod, Fire to Fire and Kutenda among others shows the artiste is an unpolished diamond.
“I follow Pastor Charles Charamba and he is my master. I grew up listening to his music and by the grace of God it just happened that when I sing many people think it’s him. It is through this heavenly favour that I got the name Mr. Favour.
“I hope my music will give hope to all Zimbabweans and even if I do not get money from what I do, I am content with preaching the word of God through music,” said the green horn.
The sungura gospel performer took swipe at his fellow ministers who are taking the industry for fame.
“Gospel music if not there for people to seek fame. If you want fame prioritise God’s work and he will reward you accordingly. I know drunkards listen to my music, that alone is preaching the wonders of the Lord.
“If we are artistes with the noble cause of spreading the good news about God we should unite,” added Mr. Favour.
With 2016 fast approaching, Mr. Favour said challenges of 2015 should not derail the hope of Zimbabweans whom he said should anticipate better things only if they lean on God.
