ZIMBABWE – Tellmore Guze pleaded not guilty when he appeared before mbare magistrate Gladys Moyo charged with theft.
Guze was found guilty and was sentenced to six months, three months were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour and the remaining three were suspended on condition he performs 105 hours of community service.
The State led by Fanuel Madanire proved that on December 2, Danford Mutunimha left his vending table to buy some material for his day to day business.
When he returned Mutunimha found out that five of his brooms, a jigsaw and US$80 were missing.
He decided to ignore what had happened since he had been clueless on how it happened.
Mutunimha later saw his jigsaw in Guze’s closet, when he asked him he denied and claimed the jigsaw belonged to him.
Guze then lodged a complaint with the police and managed to identify his jigsaw.
After denying al allegations the court questioned and found Guze guilty after he failed to lay facts to prove his innocence.
