ZIMBABWE – Amos Gwaze pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Anita Tshuma charged with assault.

Gwaze has been sent for community service vetting which has not yet been approved.

The State led by Hilda Varaidzo Huni proved that on November 31 Gwaze came home drunk and asked Chrispen Gwaze to open the door for him.

Amos became violent when his father delayed opening the door for him and he picked an iron bar and hit Chrispen’s door made of glass.

When Chrispen got out of the house to confront Amos on what he had done he turned violent and threatened to attack Chrispen.

Chrispen’s effort to solve the issue with Amos was fruitless.

Chrispen then lodged a complaint with the police leading to Amos’s arrest.

When he was called to testify in court Chrispen opted for a less lenient sentence for his son to learn a lesson as he claimed he abuses drugs.
