ZIMBABWE – A Chitungwiza man bit the hands that feds him when he stole a 21 inch television set from his grandmother whom he stays with.
Funny Hongoro pleaded guilty to theft charges for stealing a 21 television set from his grandmother Shupikai Chirimamhunga whom he reside with at No. 8617 Unit K, Seke Chitungwiza.
Funny said the prevailing hardships prompted him to steal the television set so that he sells it.
“I am sorry for what I did, I stole the television set from my grandmother because I am currently unemployed and I am always out of cash so I wanted to sell the television set,” he said.
Chitungwiza magistrate Tafadzwa Miti will pronounce judgement of the matter today.
The State proved that on January 4 at around 12 pm, Shupikai had a misunderstanding with Funny which resulted in Funny leaving the house.
Whilst Funny was away, Shupikai received a call from her nephew Bronsky Mavhunga informing her that he had seen Funny giving his friend the television set.
The court head that Shupikai then went home and discovered that the television set was missing.
The following day Shupikai went to the police and lodged a complaint against Funny.
