ZIMBABWE – The country’s top musicians Alick Macheso, Suluman Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah and Winky D will tonight prove who the biggest crowd puller is as they are all performing in the capital.
With Jah Prayzah currently carrying the man of the moment tag, the other musicians are out to prove showbiz watchers wrong.
Jah Prayzah is sharing the stage with Winky D at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale while Sulu performs at The Volt in CBD.
Alick Macheso is taking his awaited album Tsoka Dzerwendo to Joy Centre in Highfield.
Though there are other events in the capital, all eyes will be on these three gigs.
Jah Prayzah is basking in the glory of his DVD and is being partnered by Winky D, who is riding on the crest with his kickstep, Gafa Life.
Sulu’s singles compilation disc is also doing well, which makes his gig at The Volt worth attending.
The song Macamaradha seems to have won hearts of many music lovers.
Sungura kingpin Alick Macheso’s patient fans have also a reason to be at Machipisa Shopping Centre to listen to the new music.
Macheso’s delay to release a new album, however, seems to have affected the turnout at his shows though he remains a force to reckon with.
Sulu’s publicist Joe Local Nyamungoma said they have a good fan base and are not worried with other gigs in town.
“I don’t think we put that in mind when we organise our shows, we have our good fan base and come tomorrow (tonight) The Volt will be packed.
“We are also sampling new songs apart from the new singles that are currently rocking showbiz, so fans should come in their numbers,” he said.
Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze said they have been sampling new songs off their forthcoming album.
“We have been sampling new songs and fans are enjoying the music. So it’s the same story at 7 Arts Theatre (tonight),” he said.
