ZIMBABWE – A city woman hurled her husband of 10 years at Harare civil court claiming that he sexually abuse her as well as insult her in front of their children.

Ivy Mukandi told the court that Nicholas Sithole was a very abusive hubby and could no longer stand it anymore.

“My husband sexually abuses me every time we enter our matrimonial bedroom.

“Recently I gave birth to our third child, and soon after I came back from the hospital he wanted to have sex with me.

“Each time I refuse to have sex with him, he insults me or even punch me in the face.

“I have since initiated it to him that he marries a second wife if I am lacking in bed but he has refused.

“At one point, I reported him to both my and his relatives and he defaulted all the family meetings we arranged.

“I hope that my wish of the protection order will be granted so that the abuse stops,” she said.

In response Nicholas said:

“She denies me of my conjugal rights, and is a very lazy woman.

“I paid her a full bride price so she should act like a married woman and satisfy my every need.

Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi, who presided over the matter, granted the protection order in Ivy’s favour.
