ZIMBABWE – An epworth man is battling for his life at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare after he was reportedly stabbed by his wife and left with his intestines on the open for returning home late.
The man, whose name was not appearing on State papers, was alleged stabbed by his wife, Lucia Mudende aged 19.
Lucia, of No.420 Belapezi Epworth, appeared at the Harare magistrates’ court charged with attempted murder.
Mudende was not asked to plead to the charges when she appeared before magistrate Elijah Makomo who remanded her to February 15.
The State led by Sebastian Mutizirwa had it that on January 30 at around 8:30am the teenager picked a dispute with her husband after he reportedly returned home late.
It is said Lucia became angry at the height of the dispute which forced her to fetch a kitchen knife which was in a dish.
The court heard that Lucia then stabbed her husband on the stomach leaving him with his intestines on the open.
Her husband was then taken to the police in a wheelbarrow before being rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he was admitted in the intensive car.
Lucia was apprehended as she was attempting to flee.
