ZIMBABWE – Deputy minister of Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperative Development, Noveti Muponora, was yesterday dragged to the civil court by his former wife who is claiming $1200 for child support and herself.
The Mt Darwin North legislator has also been accused of evicting his wife Babra Marodza along with their one year old baby from their matrimonial home.
In her application, Marodza stated:
“Noveti and I were customarily married in 2013. He chased me away in 2015 October and never provided for his child’s welfare.
“He is capable of paying the US$1200 because he is Deputy Minister and a Member of Parliament.”
She further stated that she needed $350 for rent, rates $60, bills $10, telephone allowance $10, food $150, bus fare $20, day mum $80, clothes $80, holidays $500.
In return, Dep Min Muponora who ears who earns US$2985 offered $200 for the up keep of minor.
Magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza postponed the matter to February 17.
