ZIMBABWE – Thomas Mpofu pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Anita Tshuma charged with aggravated indecent assault.
He was not asked to plead to the charges and was remanded in custody to March 3 while further investigations are being made.
Mpofu was advised to apply for bail from the High Court.
The State, led by Tafara Chirambira, alleges that Mpofu made advances to the 16 year old boy who showed resistance and tried to flee.
Mpofu is said to have locked the doors and forced the complainant to have sexual intercourse with him.
The minor told the court that Mpofu forced himself on him.
He also explained that he did not see Mpofu use any protection during the act.
The minor told his parents soon after he arrived home and they lodged a complaint with the police and whose investigations led to the arrest of Mpofu.
The minor managed to identify Mpofu.
The court ordered the minor to go for medical tests for further proof and evidence for the matter to be tried.
