ZIMBABWE – A 24-year-old prophet was hauled to the maintenance court by his baby mama after he abandoned their two-year-old daughter.
This came to light at the Harare civil court where Anisha Togara was claiming US$200 from Tawanda Muringaniza.
“Tawanda is a prophet and he realises more than US$200 per month.
“He can afford to pay US$200 for the upkeep of our child because he is also a dealer realising more than US$50 per week.
“The child needs US$150 for clothes and groceries, US$50 for medical expenses because she has a special condition.
“I will contribute US$100 for rentals and bills towards our child’s upkeep because my salary is US$250 per month,” she said.
However, Tawanda pulled a shocker after he offered US$20 per month for the one minor child.
“I am can afford to give Anisha US$20 per month for the upkeep of our child.
“She knows that right now I am unemployed because of the scandal that happened between me and the pastor from our church,” he said.
Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi, who presided over the matter, ordered Tawanda to pay US$50 per month.
