  • The bungling ZIFA Board could not even get itself in order to suspend Rushwaya, whose tenure has been laden with scandals.

ZimDaily understands that the Board’s litany of blunders reads like a cheap comedy.

From the time they called a meeting by SMS to the time they included members of the newly elected board like Gift Phiri of the Southern Region in the process, the Board bungled along as it always has.

Rushwaya, a low level Zanu PF office holder in Masvingo province, has been diplomatic about the Board’s move and seemed sure she would come through; given the political clout she appears to carry.

It is not clear how much this bungled attempt to oust her has with former PSL boss and ZIFA presidential aspirant Tapiwa Matangaidze’s sudden decision to pull out of the race.

Matangaidze is a political aspirant himself in the Midlands province.

Rushwaya has been accused of aligning herself with the Cuthbert Dube, which is sweeping all before them

As the Board was soiling itself, Mavis Gumbo- Dube’s right hand woman and one time business partner of Robert Mugabe’s Press Secretary George Charamba – was sweeping into office as the head of Women’s football.
