However, no date has been set as yet. “We are yet to finalise the dates (of deployment) but it should be this month. We are currently working on logistics like buying air tickets and their accommodation to make sure they land smoothly,” Mr Bimha said.
The five ambassadors nominated by the MDC formations are Hebson Makuvise (Germany), Hilda Suka-Mafudze (Sudan), Jacqueline Nomhla Zwambila (Australia), Mabed Khumbulani
(Nigeria) and Getrude Stevenson-Dickey (Senegal).
The ambassadors were initially set to be posted in December last year after completing a two-month diplomatic training in October.
The MDC formations were asked to nominate individuals for appointments as ambassadors in the spirit of the inclusive government formed early last year.
Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi has since challenged the diplomats to be prepared to promote and defend the strategic interests, image and influence of Zimbabwe in the region and on the globe during their tour of duty.
