ZIMBABWE-HARARE-TEACHERS at Roy Bannett’s Charles wood farm primary school in Chimanimani have accused war veterans at the farm of interfering with the day to day running of the school.
They said war veterans who invaded the once coffee and cattle ranching farm are demanding to address pupils at morning assembly once every week.
The school’s development committee which is mainly comprised of war veterans and Zanu (PF) supporters last week held a meeting at Bannett’s former farm house and endorsed the idea that war veterans should once every week address the people.
“Two war veterans, Stan Muusha and Samuel Masabeya came to the school on Monday this week and said they want to teach the pupils about the liberation struggle history of this country.
The school’s headmaster politely asked them to seek clearance from the Ministry of Education for whatever they wanted to do at the school,” said a teacher at the school who refused to be named for fear of victimization.
The teachers also accused the war veterans of interfering in the selection and coaching of the school’s soccer teams.
“At times when we are playing soccer with other neighboring teams as a teacher you are just told to field a particular player just because his father is the chairperson of the SDA or local war veteran association branch,” said another teacher.
The teachers said most of the pupils at the school have become uncontrollable because of the war veteran’s interference at the school. There are also incidences at the school where teachers who have tried to do their professional work by disciplining the students have ended up in trouble with the war veterans.
“We have a recent case where a pupil was punished for always coming late toschool. The pupil then lied to her parents that the teacher who had punishedher was teaching them MDC gospel and the teacher was in trouble with the war vets.
Most of the teachers at the school said they were contemplating leaving the institution next term.

These mis-informed so-called war veterans are so intent on fostering indiscipline. There obviously is no consideration for the negative impact of the consequences of their actions. To drive my point home just look at the calibre of leaders that Mugabe keeps company as friends; the Bashirs, the Ahmadinejads, the Castros, the Jong Ils, the list is endless. Hasn't it been said before that people will judge you depended on the character of the compay you keep. These are the very same people who were decrying the fact after attaing indepence, and after they had sacrifised themselves to liberate the country they were now being overlooked, with certain jobs being awarded to those with certain education credentials, who after all never went to war. Now look what they're doing, after being given free reign to do as they please, instead of building they are destroying the country, left, right and centre.
Let them ruin their kids, they will be our garden boys and house maids very soon. infact housemaids are difficult to find so let them churn out a bit more on the market
and what z the ministry of education saying about reports like this..dats dem shit…i ones heard about this war veteran(mai stella) who was saying he wanted to take over the teaching of history at a school in buhera(mutiusinazita).thats crap….

masvingo woman .
This is sheer madness , these are the results of Zanu pf and Matibili`s works.
I tell you that when Matibili wins the 2011 elections with an overall majority , this will then usher us into Somalia.
Gladys Masvingo,
There is no justification for racism at all.
Fcuk ZANU,
Ya you are right Fcuk ZANU, there is no justification for racism, but at times one feels enough is enough and visitors need to know their place , or if they forget they need to be reminded. I dont mean people should kill others , but may be we could gently reason with them and even help them to pack up their things and give them lifts to the road port where there are plenty of fast cross boarder buses . Seriously guys our country is going down and it is so sad to watch, These guys will never be zimbabweans at heart , if they could flood the country with fake dollars to increase inflation they could .I do not advocate for any violence , but its nice to be aware of some of these things , again these people do not give a sh.. about zimbabwe..
Gladys Masvingo. ( sad for my country )
