Zimbabwe: "Lest we create new monsters"

ZIMBABWE — If you asked me, the earth is populated by a handful of deranged sadists with varying amounts of power and influence.

The influence of which ranges from minor inconsequential decision making to major ones with the ability to alter the life course of whole generations of people and especially so in our still developing world.

The rest of the population however are small trusting people, or little people as others would prefer to say, little with no power at all even to decide what time they would rather have breakfast the next morning, if at all they will have one.

This very unnatural state of affairs rather takes a vast amount of effort to maintain and relies on a group of do-gooders, yes men and retarded sycophants to perpetuate.

It is these deluded cheerers whose frequent and loose mutterings have fed the monster that has so consumed our nation over the years.

It is these hand clappers who grin to appease even at the sight of their mothers and sisters being violated whose complex psych I intend to explore in this short contribution.

I have mutely followed the events taking place in the Zimbabwean political arena for years, religiously reading and analysing articles, opinions and comments on a daily basis and engaging in arguments with friends and colleagues at the local pub regarding these.

What astounds me most to the extent of writing in is the fact that some supposedly sane individuals still excuse Robert Mugabe and his ZANU PF.

Even to the extent of spending sleepless nights hatching up very long, weird, supportive and seemingly poetic articles which many discerning Zimbabweans can only find comparable to farting loudly at a funeral service and giggling uncontrollably about it.

Addictive gratification at the man-made and undeserved daily suffering of Zimbabwean citizens under the president's failed funeral like rule is not a funny issue and will never be.

Your master must be satisfying you handsomely for the verbose vomit you so regularly churn out of your abused mind to ritually please him.

It would not be difficult to tailor make a system that would assess and map out the psychological profiles of some elected and appointed politicians before they assume their sacred offices of responsibility as happens in other sectors. Some of them are plain mad, period.

Others may have been bullied as children, for example, which remnants continue haunting them into intermittently behaving irrationally and into making ridiculous decisions with far reaching adverse effects.

For instance, who can explain the just lifted ban on food distributing organisations in our starving nation? An elementary miss in decision making, absolute idiocy, so irrational they had to overturn it at the request of the leader of opposition! Something they would never want to be seen to have done.

And yet the trusting, brain washed and button yielding supporters of ZANU kept on with their menacing marches in the villages on empty stomachs, equally affected by the ban on NGOs, how sorry. This takes that vast amount of effort I made reference to earlier in this article.

We all took it for granted that the veterans and others who so persecute us now would naturally blend in with the rest of the citizens after the war.

All these people, villagers and writers alike, whose contributions have been used to prop up and perpetuate the whims of this government of weirdoes, will soon need a robust system of mental and social rehabilitation as we herald our new Zimbabwe.

The kind of rehabilitation that was not offered our current leadership after the war in the bush, a costly mistake which gave birth to this handful of sadistic monstrous misfits that so populate our nation after independence
