ZIMBABWE — It is interesting that issues in Zimbabwe have come to this stage even though no concrete agreement has been reached as yet.

 

The idea that the talks came to an abrupt stop with regard to the said remaining issue while most people view it as a drawback it is actually a good thing in many levels.

 

For years each and every government formed in the continent of Africa have been about compromise and what is seen as the will to play nice.

 

The perfect example is the Kenyan resolve, a President with a Vice President and a Prime Minister with a vice PM.

 

Who is running the administration? Rumors have been going around in the print media of possible resolve with Zimbabwean situation;

The reasons for the two VP range from long standing agreement between PF Zapu * Zanu PF unity accord and the more clear reason to cater for Matebeleland Provinces.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The DPM post are also being reasoned along those lines. Well I say enough is enough we don't need this anymore in Africa.

The highest post in Zimbabwe have to be two that of the President and Vice President in the case of current situation for the sake of transition it should be President and Prime Minister that's it no deputies no VP's or DPM's its expensive and not necessary, yes it is and true.

People who drive the tribal agenda are people who want to come through the back and are the very people who hamper progress.

 

The country is politically mature and the electorate is very literate such they vote on party ideologies and not personalities.

 

Post should not be created to appease a few if you don't get voted for then you cannot get in.

I say its time to consider much leaner and meaner administration who are there to serve the people who can be accounted for each and every decision they make for the people.

Scrape the Governors its colonial serves no purpose, reduce the number of Senators to equal the number of provinces and major Towns with considerable authority to elected on that post.

 

Bring the Chiefs into the fold of parliament for them to be the balance in matters of constitutions since they hold the trust, faith and beliefs of the people culturally and traditionally.

What is functional is

1 x President (Executive or not)
1 x Prime Minister (Executive or not)
for the transitional period only then
1 x President / Prime Minister ( Executive)
1 x Vice President / Deputy Prime Minister

 

Remember - Accountability, Cost, Effectiveness, Efficiency, Progress.
