The MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai has decided to pull his party out of the run-off citing escalating political violence against his supporters.

Morgan Tsvangirai has made an announcement in Zimbabwe's capital this afternoon that the MDC will not participate in a 'Sham' election.

Whether MDC decides to pull out or continue with the run-off will not guarantee anyone that the violence will end, commented one MDC supporter in the UK, in fact without the MDC participating the violence will escalate. This is the most irresponsible move by the MDC since its formation in 1999 added the supporter.

Another analyst commenting on the UK based Zimbabwe's internet Radio Station zim NET radio ongoing programme - Talking Zimbabwe, throughout today said - WHAT NOW? They have pulled out and Mugabe will declare himself the winner and that will be it. This is virtually the end of opposition politics.

Zimbabweans from all walks of life have been left speechless by the decision to pull out of the run-off. You fight to the bitter end commented another listener. No need to give up when it is very clear the battle has been won. The MDC was definitely going to win the run-off and now they have sold out to ZANU-PF.

Another commentator was a bit positive - "I think Morgan is right pulling out, how do you particpate in an election where your fate is already defined".

zim NET radio - Zimbabwe's Biggest Internet Radio station is currently running a live broadcast gauging the reaction of the diaspora on the announcement by the opposition to pull out of the run-off.

The discussion is ongoing throughout Today Tune-IN
