ZIMBABWE – Raphael July was robbed by three men and he managed to pursue them until he apprehended one of them with the help of a passerby.
He lost his Samsung galaxy S4 and Us$47 to the thugs and nothing was recovered.
July was walking along the footpath between Glen View 1 High and Glen View 2 High when he met the trio.
One of them grabbed him from behind and the other tripped him, July fell down.
Whilst lying on the ground one of the men searched him, took his phone, money and fled.
The others followed suit.
July is said to have chased after them and managed to court the help of a passerby through screaming.
They apprehended Liberty Chenhare and took him to the police where he refused to identify his alleged partners in crime.
Chenhare appeared before Mbare magistrate Anita Tshuma court facing plain robbery charges.
He denied the allegations and was remanded to January 21 for trial.
