ZIMBABWE – President Robert Mugabe has lashed out at the media saying it was causing confusion and disagreements in the ruling party.

President Mugabe began by dispelling claims by the ruling party’s detractors that the Central Committee meeting had been triggered by the so-called factional politics in the party, yet it was it was an ordinary session.
Cde Mugabe paid tribute to the Women’s League and the two Vice Presidents for keeping the party alive and being in touch with the people at a time when people need food assistance and inputs for the impending rainy season.
Cde Mugabe said despite opposition media’s onslaught on the ruling party, Zanu PF remains focused on fulfilling the goals and aspirations of the people and that work is underway to strengthen the party ahead of the 2018 elections.
He said the recent by-elections have played a role in testing the strength of Zanu PF which is getting stronger by the day.
The President went on to call for the revival of the cotton industry in the country to ensure adequate feedstock for various value addition projects in the cotton and textile value chain.
