ZIMBABWE – A Harare man pleaded with his mother to forgive him after she had dragged him to the domestic violence court for breaching the family peace.
Wonder Januari confessed before the Harare civil court that he was sorry to his mother Theresa Januari for causing unnecessary drama at the family home.
Theresa had approached the court seeking for a protection order against her son.
“He is causing problems at our home, he is not employed and does not help me look after the family.
“He always complains that we are not giving him enough food yet he does not contribute anything.
“The respondent is also abusing his 38 years-old sister. She returned from her marriage and we are now staying with her.
“Her children are staying at our house and he does not accept them.
“He is also demanding rentals from my tenants,” she said.
In response, Wonder pleaded with his mother to forgive him.
“I plead with my mother to forgive me. I’m sorry for all that I have done to her.
“I promise to change and I will keep peace toward her,” he said.
Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa presided over the matter, she granted the protection order in Theresa’s favour.
