ZIMBABWE – Glen Norah A man has been slapped with five months imprisonment over beating his wife for failing to bring her salary home in time.
Martin taenzana, 31, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Anita Tshuma charged with physical abuse

Huni was the family bread winner and her salary’s delay frustrated Taenzana who went on to ask why he did not get hold of Huni’s November salary.
Huni then explained to him that her employer had told them that there was going to be a delay of payment of their salary.
Taenzana turned violent and assaulted Huni who resorted to refer the matter to her work mate for verification.
Taenzana agreed to go and confirm and on their way Taenzana suddenly turned violent, slapped and punched Huni in the face.
Taenzana floored Huni and kicked till she escaped into a stranger’s house seeking help.
Huni was assisted by the family she sought help from and lodged a complaint with the police leading to Taenzana’s arrest.
Upon appearing in court, Huni’s face was swollen to she could not walk without the help of her relatives who were holding her hand as she had suffered eye injuries during the fight.
