ZIMBABWE – This proved true as the tables turned against an Epworth man who received a thorough hiding from his wife and later found sanctuary at the courts.
Rangarirai Munyambo (27) of house number 1991 Belapezi, Epworth, was left for dead after his wife Knowledge Ngirandi (25) comprehensively assaulted him with a stick after he had asked his wife where she had taken his property worth $70 to.
Appearing before magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti, Ngirandi denied assaulting her husband but the State led by prosecutor Onward Gomwe proved she was lying.
It was Gomwe’s case that on December 3 this year the complainant was convicted of a separate physical abuse charge and served time at Harare Central Prison.
Upon his release he went home and discovered that his wife had taken property worth $70 and relocated to another place.
In pursuing for the recovery of the property that had been taken to another location, Munyambo was assaulted by his wife who later gave him the property.
Magistrate Muchuchuti ordered Ngirandi to pay a fine of $20 or face 10 days behind bars.
