GOKWE – The Citizen’s Coalition for Change President Advocate Nelson Chamisa today led from the front in Gokwe as people power reigned supreme over state machinery following a heavy handed response to the Triple C sanctioned campaign rally.
With the police barring the People’s President from addressing the citizens, President Chamisa pulled a first and still addressed the citizens through action.
“In Gokwe despite heavy police presence, tear smoke and rubber bullets, the Citizens of Gokwe have confirmed and affirmed their support for the new,” Ostalos Siziba, the CCC deputy Spokesperson said.

A public appearance at Metro Peach Wholesalers by President Chamisa send citizens who looked dejected because of rally ban into wild frenzy.
All the citizens wanted was a glimpse of their man, but for strange reasons the police responded by throwing tear gas canisters and spraying citizens with poisoned water.
Much to his credit, the People’s President did not waver. He proceeded right through the tear smoke to address thousands of Gokwe citizens, not by words but through action.

Non verbal communication and non violent action was on display! Even people donning President Mnangagwa regalia wanted a selfie with the Citizen’s president, Advocate Chamisa.

President Chamisa simply walked side by side with the citizens -no word but just waving his index fingers to which the citizens responded with ululation and jubilation.
The Police made a U turn on the CCC rally after President Mnangagwa took his campaign to Kwekwe. Police claimed they did not have manpower to cover the CCC rally, instead deploying their arsenal to disrupt the planned rally.
“Zimbabwe Republic Police is threatening to block our Yellow Gokwe rally. We got police clearance early this week per the Maintenance of Public Order Act. As an afterthought, ED Mnangagwa called a rally in Kwekwe, 140km away. Police now say they have no manpower,” Siziba said earlier.
The CCC had to get a court order to proceed with their rally, which order was ignored.
