ZIMBABWE – Orgar Moses hauled her ex-hubby Cain Mudimu to the Harare civil court claiming maintenance for the welfare of their child as she accused him of being irresponsible.
Pleading for maintenance before magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza, Orgar said:
“I need US$100 for the upkeep of my tree-year-old child.
“We are both farmers from Domboshava and I know he earns about US$200 per month so Cain is supposed to manage the maintenance.
“I separated with Cain last year in May because he had begun to have an extra marital affair and being irresponsible.
“So my prayer before the court is to be assisted by Cain to look after his own child because he is able.”
In response, Cain said:
“I can only offer Orgar US$20 because I am struggling financially.
“The vegetables I grow make me realise about US$40 income per month.
“Right now my wife is expecting my child, which means more responsibility.”
Magistrate Nyatsanza, who presided over the matter, ordered Cain to pay US$50 maintenance with effect from January 31.
