ZIMBABWE – A family in Glenview 1 is appealing for funding assistance so that three-year-old Tallia Kachuta can undergo a colostomy closure surgery costing US$7 200.
The young girl was born without an anal passage and has been using a hole drilled on her stomach for removing waste from the body.
She then underwent an operation to open up her anal passage which has now healed but it can only function after the hole in the stomach has been closed thus as a result the family is appealing for assistance.
The mother Patricia Timire is unemployed.
The child’s family says she is being stigmatised by other kids who refuse to play with her as she is often covered with faeces and flies.
The mother also said the child is growing to realise she is different and that it pains to see her without friends.
The family can be contacted on 0713 392 211 for any assistance.
