SOUTH AFRICA – Former Johannesburg Mayor and leader of the newly formed political party Action SA, Herman Mashaba has urged the South African government to relook its approach in dealing with the crisis in Zimbabwe.
“For years our government has watched while ZANU-PF destroyed a country once capable of feeding much of Southern Africa,” said Mashaba.
He added that “we must adopt the strongest and harshest policies against an oppressive government.”
Mashaba submitted that the new approach should start by freezing assets of ZANU-PF leaders in South Africa and banning them from entering South Africa until real reforms have been made in Zimbabwe.
The former Mayor joins the growing list of South African politicians calling for an urgent intervention into the situation in Zimbabwe.
