ZIMBABWE – This came to light at Harare civil court where Mollin Sithole was seeking upward variation from US$30 to US$104 from Elvis Masiya for the upkeep of their child.
Mollin also told the court that Elvis is in a habit of defaulting paying the money.
“I want the money to be varied from US$30 to US$104 because I’m no longer working.
“Elvis has defaulted since last year in December and he does not answer my calls each time I tries to reach to him for child support.
“He earns US$280 per month but does not want to support his child knowing that my health does not allow me to work.
“I do no t trust his pay slip because he is good at forging because the last time he came with a forged a pay slip of US$100 per month,” she said.
In response Elvis who offered US$30 said:
“I am a gardener and earn US$100 per month.
“She is lying about my salary because we never stayed together.”
Magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza, who presided over the matter, postponed the matter to tomorrow.
