ZIMBABWE – This came to light at the Harare civil court where Spekile Nyeka was seeking protection order against her husband Edmore Mweda who physically and emotionally abuses her.
Spekile told the court that her husband harasses, insults and assaults her.
“I am in need of a protection order against my husband.
“He bridge our marriage contract and left for another woman.
“I am tired of his insults and assaults from his girlfriend.
“I do not understand the reason why he hates me because he insults me in front of the children.
“Even now, he orders his girlfriend to abuses me verbally.
“He comes to my workplace causing havoc, harassing and embarrassing me.
“After all, he told me that our marriage is just a document and not worthy to stop him from abusing me,” she said.
In response, Edmore said.
“I am not disputing what she is saying but want her to know that I love her.
“I have no problem with the order being granted to her,” he said.
Presiding magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi, granted the protection order in Spekile’s favour.
