HARARE – University of Zimbabwe student Allan Moyo was today granted Z$10 000 bail by Justice Webster Chinamora, ending more than two months of pre-trial detention for the young student activist.
Moyo (23) was arrested on 7 December last year and is facing allegations of inciting the public to revolt against Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government.
It is alleged that sometime last year, the young student incited people at Copacabana bus terminus in Harare to stage a revolt against Mnangagwa’s government as it had failed the nation.
This was the student’s second High Court bid for freedom and is represented by Obey Shava from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights(ZLHR).
