HARARE – MDC Alliance vice-chairman Job Sikhala will remain detained at Chikurubi Maximum Prison after Justice Tawanda Chitapi reserved his ruling to next week Monday.
Chitapi said he wants to go through all the submissions.
Sikhala is facing allegations of communicating falsehoods after he commented on a video which alleged that a police officer had killed a baby in Harare.
Last week, fellow MDC Alliance member Fadzayi Mahere was granted bail while earlier today, journalist Hopewell Chin’ono was also released on bail following their arrests on similar charges.
Their arrest sparked widespread criticism as legal experts argued that the trio was arrested using a legal provision that was struck off in 2014.
