HARARE – Opposition MDC Alliance Secretary General Chalton Hwende made a shocking claim that former Senator Lilian Timveos defected to Zanu-PF after being promised that she will retain her parliamentary vehicle.
The claims from Hwende followed the announcement that Timveos and Blessing Chebundo had crossed party lines and joined Zanu-PF.
Following the news of the latest defections, Hwende took to the MDC Alliance SG handle and claimed that Timveos was joining Zanu-PF after being promised by the First Lady that she will retain her vehicle despite being recalled from Parliament.
“Three weeks ago we received a resignation letter from Ms Timveos which we accepted. Her major reason was that Mai Mnangagwa had promised to help her retain the vehicle she received when she was a Senator. Mr Chebundo has joined Zanu PF from the Mwonzora Group. We wish them well,” Hwende said.
