HARARE – Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Mozambique, Major General (Rtd) Douglas Nyikayaramba has died at the age of sixty-four.
A former Chief of Staff in the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), Nyikayaramba succumbed to Covid-19, according to close sources.
He was retired and given a diplomatic assignment by President Emmerson Mnangagwa after the ouster of former President Robert Mugabe in 2017.
Nyikayaramba becomes the fourth top military general key in Mugabe’s removal from power to succumb to the virus, following the death of Perrence Shiri, Sibusiso Moyo and Paradzai Zimondi.
