KAROI – Police have arrested a village Head and Secretary in Karoi for fraudulently acquiring Pfumvudza inputs after it was discovered that they used 96 villagers including the dead to obtain the inputs from Grain Marketing Board.
It is also alleged that the two men then stole the agricultural inputs which include Compound D fertilisers, Ammonium Nitrate, soya bean and maize seeds.
“Police in Karoi has nabbed two men for fraud involving Pfumvudza inputs on 20/10/20 at St Michele Farm in Karoi. A Village Head and Secretary connived and obtained agricultural inputs on behalf of 96 villagers including the dead from the Grain Marketing Board,” said the police.
Six bags of Ammonium Nitrate and six bags of Compound D were recovered.
Meanwhile, 6 security officers at GMB were also arrested on the 15th of November for stealing agricultural inputs.
