President Kenyatta today officially opened the 48km Ngong-Kiserian-Isinya and the 43km Kajiado-Imaroro roads in Kajiado County.
The two roads, developed by Intex Construction Ltd, are the first in the country to be constructed on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.


The President, who is on a tour of development projects in Nairobi County, was accompanied by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Infrastructure CS James Macharia. The link road was constructed to ease the evacuation of cargo from the ICD and assist in the decongestion of Mombasa Road.
Meanwhile, The two had earlier made an extensive inspection tour of the Green Park Bus Terminus on Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi.
The Head of State, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction of the ultra-modern bus station, being developed by the Nairobi Metropolitan Service, as part of Government efforts to decongest the city’s CBD.



The former Prime Minister wrote on his Facebook page
“I’m impressed by the progress of works being carried out at the Green Park bus terminus that I saw during an inspection tour of projects with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Green Park is a major step towards making Nairobi a friendlier, less congested, and livable city”.
