HARARE – MDC-T leader, Thokozani Khuphe’s controversial swearing into Parliament hit a setback on Tuesday after a High Court application was filed seeking to stop the process by one Charles Madhiwa.
Khupe and other MDC-T members were set to be sworn in Tuesday as replacements for the recalled MDC-Alliance legislators.

Part of the order sought by Madhiwa is arguing that Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and it’s Chairperson, Chigumba acted unlawfully by seeking to appoint people who have been nominated by another party which is not the one that held those seats.

The application highlights that ZEC had in 2018 announced that those seats had been won by MDC-Alliance which was a different political party itself.
