ZIMBABWE – A lecturer yesterday was grumpy that his 16-year-old son was watching pornography on the internet using his laptop.
This came to light at the Harare civil court where the lecturer Cuthbert Gweshe was dragged by his ex-wife Angela Femberwi who was seeking protection order against him.
Cuthbert was reportedly assaulting and threatening to kill Angela using an animal gun.
“I am in need of a protection order against my ex-husband.
“He assaults and threatens to kill me with his animal gun that he used to keep besides our matrimonial bed when we were married.
“Cuthbert told his relatives that he wants to kill me.
“On the 25th of November he quietly crept into the house I stay with our three children and he chocked me unaware.
“I am now living in fear every day,” said Angela.
In response, Cuthbert said:
“I dispute what she is saying because they are all lies.
“Angela does not want me to discipline my 16-year-old son who was watching pornography on the internet using my laptop.
“Right now my son is performing dismally in school after she transferred him from a boarding school to a day school in town.
“As a lecturer, I am even concerned with my youngest daughter who attained six units instead of four yet she was a bright pupil.
“She does not monitor the children as a mother.
“When I confronted her that she should be responsible with my children as the custodian, Angela hit me.”
Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa, who presided over the matter, granted the protection order in Angela’s favour.
