It is 8 months now since we’ve been under serious surveillance, continuous arrests, reporting 3 times a week and having to attend court once or twice a week most of the times.
It has been a journey… an agony that no pill can cure, visible and pychological scars that will never heal. Life should never be this way.
Society must never again allow this to happen!
As the year comes to an end, allow me to thank the almight God, our President Advocate Nelson Chamisa, our team of barristers, fellow Cdes, friends and family for the continous solidarity and support to date. It is always heartwarming and keeps me going despite all the trials and tribulations.
Just a relief, bail conditions have been varied to reporting once a fortnight. Trial proceedings for Cecilia Chimbiri and myself were temporarily stayed as we await for the high court ruling on review of separation of the two of us from Joanah Mamombe. Be that as it may, we remain resolute and unshaken, ready to roar and conquer.
It is high time we must give a deep thought about our justice system. No one should ever have to bear scars that they were not born with. No one should ever carry the burden of wounds inflicted on them simply because they are physically weak, because some wounds never heal. Society must never tolerate any kind of abuse.
Women should never be a target of molestation and harm because they are defenceless. The victims must never be silent
