ZIMBABWE – A 37-year old man has appeared in court for allegedly slapping his father over a missing stove.
Tawanda Mangove pleaded not guilty to physical abuse charges when he appeared before Mbare magistrates’ court.
He told the court that he did not assault his father.
“My father is the one who wronged me. I left my stove in his custody and when l came back to collect it he failed to account for it your honor, he is fabricating the allegations against me, lm innocent in this matter”, Said Tawanda
However his father maintains that his son assaulted him and he wants him brought to justice.
He was remanded out of custody on US$30 bail to November 27 for trial.
Allegations are that on November 6 at Standrick Mangoes, 60’s house in Kuwadzana at around 5am Tawanda confronted his father about the stove that he had left in the house.
Standrick told him to wait for him until he comes from work so that they will talk about the stove since he was rushing to go to work.
This did not go down well with Tawanda and he demanded his stove calling his father a thief.
He allegedly went charging towards his father and slapped him several times on the face demanding to know the whereabouts of his stove.
This did not go down well with Standrick and he lodged a complaint with the police leading to Tawanda’s arrest.
