ZIMBABWE – Ashley Murwira stabbed Leon Manyika accusing him of being over protective.
Manyika is said to have seen Murwira standing near his wife’s vegetable stall for more than two hours.
He then confronted and accused him of befriending a married woman.
A heated argument ensured between the two.
In ire, Murwira took out a knife and stabbed Manyika on the shoulder.
Manyika suffered a deep cut and was treated at Harare Central Hospital.
He then lodged a complaint with the police leading to Murwira’s arrest.
Murwira pleaded guilty when he appeared before a Mbare magistrate facing assault charges.
He pleaded with the magistrate not to send him to jail.
“I am very sorry your honour and l also want to apologise to Manyika. l did not mean to stab him, l got angry and lost control of my temper. Have mercy on me l have a family to look after”, he said.
He was remanded out of custody to today for sentencing.
The state proved that on September 29 at around 6pm in Glen View 8, Murwira stabbed Manyika after he confronted him on his behavior
