HARARE – MDC-Alliance Youth Assembly Glenview North Organiser, Terence Manjengwa was on Friday granted Z$5 000 bail by High Court Judge, Justice Erica Ndewere.
Manjengwa was detained at Harare Remand Prison for more than two months without a trial following his arrest while attending Job Sikhala’s court hearing.
MDC-Alliance, vice chairperson and MP for Zengeza West, Job Sikhala paid the bail.
In delivering her judgement, Justice Ndewere said “denying Manjengwa bail is a miscarriage of justice.”
She also added, “Magistrate Barbra Mateko misdirected herself when she denied Manjengwa bail early in September.”
He becomes the longest serving political prisoner without trial of his generation.
