HARARE – Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi has filed for divorce from his wife of 27 years saying their relationship is irretrievably broken, with no prospects of restoration.
In his court file, Ziyambi is asking for a decree of divorce citing that he and his wife, Florence Ziyambi (nee Mizha) have not been living together as husband and wife for the past seven years.
The couple has two adult children.
Ziyambi argues that their marriage is just a shell as they have not shared conjugal rights since then.
“Since then, the parties have developed divergent interest and have become incompatible and have lost all love and affection for each other,” read part of the application papers.
Florence Ziyambi is a lawyer and former deputy Prosecutor-General.
In his application papers, Ziyambi wants to keep the house in St Martins which is registered in his name, his wife keeps the house in Bluffhill and the other house in Westlea be awarded to one of their daughters, Chido Maureen Ziyambi.
He also offered to provide for his younger daughter, Chido until she graduates or becomes self-sufficient.
