HARARE – OK Zimbabwe on Wednesday donated groceries worth ZWL$400 000 towards the Harare Mayor’s Cheer Fund (HMCF) which will be donated to four children’s homes.
The four homes that will benefit from the donation are Danai Children’s Home, Chinyaradzo Children’s Home, Dzikwa Trust and St Joseph House for Boys.

Acting Mayor, Alderman Stewart Mutizwa received the donations on behalf of HMCF.
“It is with humility that I stand before you here in this unusual setting receiving these goods for some of the less privileged members of our society.

“Christmas time is usually associated with plenty but due to the Covid – 19 pandemic that ravaged the world and affected economies, many corporates struggled, even with their social corporate responsibilities.
” But for OK Zimbabwe l, it has been different. Working together with the Harare Mayor’s Cheer Fund (HMCF), they have put up this moment and four homes will push away trolleys worth hundred thousand dollars(100 000.00) each,” said Mutizwa.

Mutizwa also thanked OK Zimbabwe for the donation especially under the current state of economy where many corporates are struggling due to the effects of the pandemic.
“Allow me to ask you all to put your hands together for this company for pulling all stops to make the occasion special. While other corporates are downsizing and struggling with their commitments, OK Zimbabwe has sacrificed that small cake to share this Christmas.”
