ZIMBABWE – Edwin Kazonde found himself in the dock after Eva Kanohado applied for a peace order against him which states that he insults her and intends to ruin her marriage.
“I receive text messages from Edwin every day which says that we once had a love relationship long ago which I had forgotten.
“When I confronted him on the issue he began insulting me saying that I am a prostitute. He claims that he slept with both me and my daughter,” she said.
Eva added that:
“He also said there was nothing I could do about it since he was a police officer and was above the law.
“My prayer to this honourable court is to grant me the peace order because I now fear for my marriage.”
In response Edwin said:
“This is someone I had a relationship with five years ago. The only thing I did was send her a text message stating my undying love for her and to get her back.
“I have never insulted her and I did not know she was married when I sent the message. Of course I am a police officer, but that does not mean I am above the law as she is saying.
Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa who presided over the matter granted the matter in Eva’s favour.
