HARARE – Godfrey Kurauone, MDC Alliance youth National Organiser and Councillor for Ward 4 in Masvingo was acquitted of criminal nuisance charges levelled against him following the withdrawal of the case by the state.

I'm calling for the government of Zimbabwe to release all political prisoners, including Godfrey Kurauone, who represent the country's future. Justice demands it.

The state, through Prosecutor Mbambo, withdrew the charges levelled against Kurauone since 31st of July after he was arrested for allegedly singing anti-Mnangagwa songs.

He has been in prison since then and has continously been denied bail.

Kurauone will however, return to court Thursday for commencement of his trial on charges of obstruction or endangering free movement of people and traffic.

He is being represented by Martin Muneri of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).
