MASVINGO – MDC-Alliance National Youth Organiser, Godfrey Kurauone was denied bail again yesterday by Magistrate Patience Madondo.
The Masvingo Urban Ward 4 Councillor had his case heard by Magistrate Madondo who then subsequently reserved her judgement to Thursday 10 September 2020.
Defence lawyer, Advocate Martin Muneri requested that his client be given bail citing “changed circumstances,” the request which was however denied by Magistrate Madondo.
During the submissions, Kuraone’s personal doctor testified on the health condition of the accused for both before and after detention.
Kurauone will therefore spend more days in the cells having been arrested since 31 July 2020 for singing anti-Mnangagwa songs.
He was recently acquitted of criminal nuisance charges but is still facing charges of obstructing free movement of people and traffic.
Top Human Rights Lawyers in Masvingo including Advocate Derrick Charamba, Advocate Mafa, Advocate Maboke and Advovate Shumba are also assisting his lawyer, Advocate Muneri with the case.
Many people continue to attend his court appearances to show their solidarity and support.
