HARARE – Transport Magnate Regis Munhenzva has died, succumbing to Covid-19 today at Avenues Clinic in Harare.
Munhenzva reportedly contracted the virus a few days ago which was worsened by the fact that he was asthmatic which led to him being placed on a ventilator following his admission at the hospital.
This was confirmed by the family spokesperson, Lloyd who is also nephew to the late transport mogul.
“He contracted Covid-19 a few days ago and to make matters worse he was asthmatic. He was admitted at Avenues and immediately placed on a ventilator but it did not help,” he said.
Besides owning a fleet of busses operating long distances, Munhenzva was also the president of the Zimbabwe Long Distance Bus Operators Association.
Reports are also saying the late Munhenzva’s young brother also contracted Covid-19 and is currently in isolation.
