JOHANNESBURG – The South African Weather Services (SAWS) National Forecasting Center has issued a warning of potential severe thunderstorms on some parts of Johannesburg on Wednesday 30 September between 1000hrs and 2100hrs.
Members of the public were warned to take be observant of changing weather conditions and to be cautious.
Part of the statement said “It is predicted that the storm pockets would be associated with sever lightning, localised flash flooding, reduced driving visibility and or damaging winds. This could result in damage to informal and or formal housing and business structures, temporary flooding of low-level road crossings, causeways, and susceptible low-lying residential areas.”
