ZIMBABWE – Denson Mutangambera pleaded guilty when he appeared before Mbare magistrate shelly Zvenyika charged with assault.
Mutangamberi has been ordered to go for community service vetting and awaits approval.
Mutangambera and cloud Sabanga had agreed that he would drill a borehole and then receive payment after the job has been done.
Sabanga then agreed to pay Mutangambera US$50.
On October 29 last year Sabanga left the agreed amount with his neighbor and instructed her to pay Mutangambera after he had finished delivering his service.
Mutangambera contrary to the terms of his agreement with Sabanga demanded the money before he had drilled the borehole.
Sabanga’s neighbor refused to do as Mutangambera had instructed and he turned violent and threatened her till she gave him the money.
When Sabanga returned he found out that the job he instructed Mutangambera to do had not been done and yet he had been paid.
Sabanga went and approached Mutangambera who turned violent, punched and floored him.
Sabanga then lodged a complaint with the police leading to Mutangambera’s arrest.
In court Mutangambera admitted to the charges laid against him but he told the court that Sabanga confronted him in a provoking way and he just got angry and went out of bounce.
Ruth Madoda appeared for the State.
